Grocery shopping in an atmospheric setting and seasonal flavours! We are particularly proud of the newly renovated market hall’s shop and its selection of products from around 100 small producers. At the service counters, you can find quality meats, cold cuts, fish and cheeses — and tips on how to prepare them. All purchases from the shop and service counters are paid at the same check-out. FAIR LOCAL FOOD SHOP
Not only Finnish but also locally produced. At the market hall’s local food shop, you can pick up small producers’ jams, honey and other treats, baked goods, coffees from small roasteries, artisan beers, freshly ground flour and many other products. The trade is fair: the producers can set their own sales prices.
CATCH OF THE DAY FROM THE HALL
The market hall’s fish counter offers fish caught by local fishermen from nearby lakes and Finnish fish in various forms. Cured and smoked fish and other delicious fish products from Salpausselän Kala and other local producers are available in line with the seasons.
MEAT AND OTHER TREATS
Fresh meat and chicken from local farms, cut and seasoned on the site. The market hall’s service counter offers a selection of cold cuts, tasty special sausages and lamb, game and reindeer, subject to availability. Beef comes from the Hietala farm in Ruuhijärvi and the pork is supplied by the Lukkari farm in Myllykoski.
TREASURES OF THE CHEESE COUNTER
The market hall’s cheese counter offers delicious cheeses matured by Finnish producers. They are guaranteed to make your mouth water! Other producers that supply their flavoursome cheeses to the market hall include Asikkalan Juustola, Porlammin Meijeri, Mäkelän Tilajuustola and Untamoloukon Savujuustua.
CRAFT BEER SHOP HILPEÄ
Beer lovers who know the Hilpeä craft beer shop from Heinola’s Heila can now find its urban counterpart at Lahti Market Hall! With its regularly updated selection, the shop offers dozens of craft beers and ciders from Finnish microbreweries. Enjoy at home or give as a present!
IN-HOUSE BAKERY
The café’s freshly baked buns, pies and other treats are all made in-house by the market hall’s own bakery. Our bakery also creates the region’s best cinnamon buns and other baked delights for the local food shop at the market hall. We also produce cakes and other bakery products to order for family celebrations and other events.
